Partnering with educational leaders to navigate change.

Julie founded 4Good Consulting in 2016 because she was looking both for personal change and to impact change differently within public education.

Today, that takes two forms.

As a coach, Julie partners with educational leaders nationally to bring leadership practice to an intentional level.  Part thought partner and part critical friend, Julie works with leaders to prioritize reflection and lead with clarity and purpose.

As a consultant with Advanced Learning Partnerships, Julie works with school districts across the country on projects ranging from strategic planning and social emotional learning to micro-credentialing and developing a coaching mindset in leaders and teams.

Julie regularly shares insights from the field and has been featured on blogs from ALP,  Pure & Applied Group and the Measuring SEL blog from the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL).

Prior to starting 4Good, Julie proudly served CT children and families as a Spanish teacher in Weston Public Schools and an administrator in Wallingford Public Schools.

Julie was named New England League of Middle School's (NELMS) A+ Administrator in 2014.  She earned a B.A. in Sociology from Villanova University, a 6th Year degree in Educational Leadership from Sacred Heart University and a M.A. in International Relations from University of Oklahoma.

Here's what people say about working with Julie:

“Working with Julie has brought much clarity and insight into how to be a better leader. She is thoughtful, thorough and extremely relatable. She has a vast knowledge set when it comes to both education and business. She is very professional, prepared and has a wealth of knowledge and resources. I highly recommend working with Ms. Foss.” --Director of Curriculum and Instruction, IL

“I feel that I am an excellent read on people's character and emotion.  What you can do brings that to another level. You have an ability to not only read someone's emotions but identify with those emotions as deeply as that person is feeling them.  This allows you to appropriately respond to their needs while simultaneously getting what you need from them. It is the true definition of empathy.” --Public School Principal, CT

"Thanks again for coming out to XX last week and supporting our learning around coaching. The experience was helpful and I feel myself improving on a daily basis. We appreciate all your expertise!"  --Instructional Technology Coach, VA

"It is particularly helpful when you synthesize what you’re hearing from me and provide specific ideas or suggestions; also love the resources you share so I can continue reflecting on these things and learning in between our check ins.”

--Head of Charter School, Minneapolis, MN

"School leaders often put the professional development needs of their staff ahead of their own. If you are looking to invest in your own learning and growth, I recommend hiring a coach to help. Julie and I connected via Linkedin last year and I have found her to be very helpful. Our conversations focused on growth and reflection. She understands the challenges of school leadership and has a unique way of helping you see alternate perspectives."

High School Principal, RI

"The establishment who hires Julie will be hiring, in my opinion and the opinions of many others, simply the finest administrator with whom we have worked."

7th grade Science Teacher, CT

For a few years now, I have been a proponent of coaching for school principals.  About 9 months ago, I decided to make the jump and get my own coach.  I am so fortunate that I found Julie.  Julie had a tremendous influence on my professional and personal development.  Whether you are a school leader, district admin, or a teacher leader, I highly recommend Julie.  She is straightforward and honest.  She will challenge your thinking and will give you the push to help you achieve your goals.  --HS Principal, RI

"Julie rescued me from my own self- doubt!" --Aspiring Administrator, CT

"Julie was a skilled facilitator of thinking and conversation. Our small group of educators was thoughtful and fully present to participate. It was a pleasure to take part in the conversation and hear from various perspectives."

- District Technology Leader, VA

“The agenda items are eye opening and enriching. Julie listens to my views, provides feedback, and is always positive.” --Nonprofit Director, New Orleans, LA

"Julie stands out above others for multiple reasons with the most noteworthy being her innate leadership talent that stems from exceptional interpersonal skills blended with research based educational understanding and impeccable follow-through."
