"Innovation"- Beyond the Buzzword An Interview With Sylver Consulting CEO, Brianna Sylver
“Innovation” is a buzzword as ubiquitous as it is elusive.
Sylver says, though innovation takes on a variety of forms and levels of intensity, at its core, innovation is introducing something new, which yields value.
So what does this have to do with learning?
According to Sylver, there exists a fair amount of anxiety around innovation at both the personal and organizational level.
Transformation and thus, innovation, happens when we as individuals learn to let our guard down enough to discover what beliefs are limiting our progress, what biases are clouding our vision, and what express role we as individuals play in creating a path forward.
In other words, if we want to be innovative, we must be willing to have a reciprocal conversation of sorts...engaging in a back and forth between who we are, what we need to let go, and what we need to receive to have the clarity and confidence to act in a new way.
The challenge before us as innovation seekers, then, is whether we are willing to hold a mirror to ME & YOU so we can move to NEW.
I'm in, are you?
