#LeadLearning- A New Series

My first year as a teacher I hero worshiped one of the veteran teachers in the department. The kids idolized him, he made baklava for the teachers, and he freely shared every teaching resource he had ever created.


One day he came to me and said, “I love some of the ways you are getting kids excited about vocabulary. Could you show me some of your ideas?”


Hubba-wha?


Brand spanking new ME had something to teach THE MASTER? I felt for the first time, like a real teacher.


That small moment sticks in my mind now because it was a moment I learned something about leadership. Namely, that leaders need...


To model learning as a mindset and practice.


To understand that everyone has something to offer.


To recognize that confidence can be inspired when you show people how you see them.
